Lisa has been an HCPC dramatherapist since 2001. Initially working for Connexions in Oxford and the Parasol Project (Oxford). Lisa then moved to Devon in 2003 to be the Clinical Lead for People with profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities for Devon Partnership NHS Trust. Lisa became Deputy manager for the wider Art(s) Therapies service and worked with people with acute mental ill health as well as managing a multi-disciplinary team. Lisa worked repeatedly with the most complex stories of distress, and this demanded attention to trauma and attachment narratives. Stories that needed to be given shape and heard by the right person, at the right time, for healing to occur.
Lisa undertook initial clinical supervision training in 2005 within the NHS and undertook a postgraduate diploma in 2017 whilst working in private practice and freelance with children and young people. Lisa worked with children facing adoption breakdown for The Adoption Consultancy 360 as well as working freelance in primary and secondary schools within Devon. Lisa retained a clinical supervision practice with teachers and TAs in schools and across the NHS.
Lisa’s development of Talking Heads was another way of supporting children and young people to lead the most well-supported, creative, playful and engaging lives they can. Lisa believes that supervision leads to staff being well-resourced and having the capacity to really love their work.
